Matt Aviles and his family
Hello! My name is Matt Aviles and I am the new Youth Minister/Ministry Leader of Young People here at PHCC. My family and I are excited to join the Park Hill family and look forward to serving alongside you.
A little about my family: My wife JoEllen and I have
been married for 23 years and have four sons. Nate is
21 years old and a second year pharmacy student at UMKC. Sam is 20 years old and a sophomore place kicker at MWSU in St Joseph. Jake is 11 years old and a video game loving sixth grader. Eli is 10 years old and a fifth grade football fanatic.
A little about my experience:
With my wife’s help and support I have served as a youth pastor in some respect the majority of my adult life. I have an Education Degree from NWMSU in Maryville and a Master's Degree in Biblical Studies from Calvary Theological Seminary in Kansas City. I have taught both public and private school but my calling is to ministry.
A little about my vision: I am called to equip, empower, encourage, and energize students and their families to fulfill the good works that God has preplanned for them. I am called to help them see that they are indeed God's workmanship…a poem that He is writing "not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.”
I look forward to partnering with parents in creating disciples who carry out the great commission and great commandment.
My prayer for the families at PHCC echoes that of Paul in Philippians when he writes “I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless Lives until the day of Christ’s return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.”
We are looking forward to great things!
