Current Sermon Series

We begin Traveling Together on our Lenten journey. We are using Eugene Peterson's book, "A Long Obedience in the Same Direction: Discipleship in an Instant Society" as our guide. Each week, we'll join Peterson in using the Psalms of Ascent to guide our devotionals and our shared worship experiences. These Psalms are traditionally understood as hymns for the traveling pilgrims on their way up to Jerusalem for special festivals. In some ways, they reminded the original pilgrims, and those seekers still today, that we are called to live a life always "ascending" toward God. Peterson reminds us that these songs are helpful to "provide a way to remember who we are and where we are going. "You are encouraged to join us in reading one chapter a week from Peterson's book. Additionally, our clergy have written a daily devotional guide as a supplement to the book; however, you do not need to be reading the book to use the devotional. Paper copies of the devotional are available and a .pdf version is accessible as here.​
