Crop Walk 2017 - Oct 8th
The Northland Youth meet next Sunday for the CROP Walk which raises money to fight hunger locally and abroad. A huge amount stays right here in KC!
The CROP Walk is at Central United Methodist Church, 5144 Oak St.,Kansas City, MO 64112.
Youth need to arrive and find Kassie, Travis, and Mindy in the parking lot at 1:30 PM that day.
The walk starts at 2 PM, but we need to have already registered and checked in by 2.
Youth and adults will want to register for free at: https://www.crophungerwalk.org/kansascitymo/
Click Register. After you fill out your information, it will send a link to your email that you can then post to Facebook or other Social Media so that people you know can donate online to CROP in your name. OR you can use one of the paper forms that I have at the church to collect any donations and bring with you to the walk.
The walk is 3.3 miles, ~5K. This should take close to 1.5 hours. I anticipate that we will be done walking (or running) about 3:30 PM. The walk ends back at the Central UMC parking lot. When we conclude the walk, there will be snacks and drinks for the walkers.
I think it makes sense for parents to pick up youth at 3:45 PM, but please know that it is still possible that we walk more slowly than planned. So, don't be worried if you have to wait a few extra minutes. If you are concerned, you can call Mindy at 480-208-8880.
Parents can walk, too, if you want. Or, you might want to spend some time at the Plaza or running an errand to Trader Joe's. 😊
Parents please download and fill out the Consent and Medical Release Form. This will cover youth until this time next year for all of our church-related activities. This helps to insure that we can get anyone the best care possible should they get hurt, etc. Please take the time to print this out for each of your youth.
